Syracuse Motels Econo Lodge University

You can check in as early as 1:00 at one of the Syracuse Motels, Econo Lodge University.  It is within minutes of “The Hill”, home to academic and athletic powerhouse Syracuse University.

This facility offers some upgraded rooms to include refrigerators, microwave ovens, irons and ironing boards and hair dryers.  You’ll find a smoke-free room with a queen bed and high speed internet for $82.49, two double beds in a no-smoking room with high-speed internet for $89.99, and two queen beds with microwave, refrigerator and 25 inch television set for $94.99.

This establishment, unique among Syracuse NY hotels, lies on historic James Street, an old “millionaire’s row”.   Though the 19th century mansions are mostly gone now, vestiges remain in the form of converted apartment houses, office buildings and a few private residences.

Perhaps the best feature of the location is your ability to walk to the heart of downtown.  Take in a summer ethnic festival in Clinton Square.  Hang out at nationally famous Dinosaur-Bar-B-Q where bikers and rude waitresses mingle in a colorful atmosphere.  Voted this summer as the best barbecued food in the nation by ABC’s Good Morning America, you can have your meal and beverage and walk off the calories in your stroll back to your room.

Upscale Armory Square is a short drive from free outdoor parking at the hotel.  Syracuse’s best chefs vie for most hip venue in this converted warehouse district just west of the city center.  Pastabilities serves up famous hot oil linguine, BC experiments with continental cuisine and Sakana-ya provides the sushi on a hip conveyor belt that is in constant motion.  It’s all just five minutes from the hotel.

Of course, you are encouraged to explore the University that gives the hotel its name.  Walk the beautiful campus or root for the Orange in the Carrier Dome.  You’ll have a bucket of memories from your stay at the Econo Lodge University.
